“I would like to see some roadmaps for all levels — junior, senior, mid-career — of hospitalists in terms of growth and career development. What are the different (career paths)? It doesn’t always have to be growing up to be a professor or a program director. I can go into administration. I can be in research or a scientific professor. Somebody has to lay out that roadmap clearly. It’s so vague, and it’s so health system dependent. It would be great if it came from SHM.”
— Lalitha Ranga, MD, Northwell Health, Long Island, New York
“It’s my first time at SHM Converge so I’m looking forward to learning some new things that will change how I practice and improve the quality of care for all the patients I take care of.”
“I’m in the pediatrics Special Interest Group, and I’m excited to meet pediatric hospitalists and network and talk about what’s going on around the country. I’m looking forward to improving my clinical knowledge about certain hot topic issues, whether that’s mental health issues or the inpatient setting or things like that.”
— Tai Hariston, MD, pediatric hospital medicine fellow at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, Baltimore, Maryland
“I’m mostly looking forward to (Wednesday’s) ultrasound escape room (2025: A POCUS Space Odyssey). It sounds like a really fun, immersive experience. We’ve only really used ultrasound in these certain clinical practices, and that sounds like a fun way to really integrate it.”
